What would the pH of a typical industrial oven cleaner be?

I just started working in a deli and I burned my arm with oven cleaner two days ago and it’s still marked. I know the oven cleaner is really strong because of the smell and it stings your eyes when you’re spraying it from a distance, so I’m just wondering how strong it actually is?

  • Industrial and domestic oven cleaners are extremely high concentration of NaOH. The pH will be in excess of 14.
Remember that a 4% solution of NaOH has pH = 14, and an oven cleaner has concentration of NaOH higher than thois resulting in pH > 14.0
