Can someone help me out and give me some important requirements towards becoming a pastry chef. What schooling is involved, average amount of hours required, type of skills required, types of apprenticeship and etc.
It would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
No schooling from what i know of,i have a friend who opened up his own pastry shop and i tried getting a job there and they said they weren’t hiring but the girl i know who works there with my friend didn’t do any schooling for it.
You just need simple baking skills, usually most of the machines do the work because most homes don’t have a refrigerator they sustains cakes,i tried putting a cake in my fridge and it didn’t turn out so well because my fridge is way different from theirs and most people dont have beaters.
My uncle went to school for bread making and they didn’t want him to be there because he said he wanted to make breads for a pastry shop and the man there just didn’t see it happening.
