Not brands like Swanson that regular markets carry because 1 box is not enough and will last only for 1 day of baking (I like to share with my friends). Not a professional baker but I like to bake and would like to buy in bulk if possible. Cake flour even though a bit pricy at the market I can find but Pastry flour is even harder to look for.

I want to become a pastry chef but have experience in cooking. I’ve seen a lot of people learning how to cook at a young age. Probably starting from grade school. Is it to late to start learning and still be successful in the culinary world? I’m in my last year of high school ready.

I’m not a professional cake maker, so I need some help!
It’s 3D and I’m making a separate cake for the head, body and legs. It will be in a sitting position on it’s belly with legs splayed and the head resting in front – I don’t think a large horn made of cake will stay standing…any ideas???

I went to Swirlz cupcake shop in Streetsville, and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of icing they use.
It is very light and fluffy and not as sweet as a normal buttercream
icing.
If you don’t know the answer to this question but can give me a good icing recipe that is light, fluffy, moderatley sweet and will hold up out of the fridge that would be very helpful!
If I use an Italian Buttercream, does the iced cake need to be kept refrigerated? How long will the cake last? Can I keep extra icing refrigerated for future use?

This year for Christmas, I’m thinking about getting some baking books for my niece who is graduating from High School. She want’s to become a pastry chef, and I think the best way to start is to begin with a simple baking book.
So, what are some low cost baking books out there(cookies, cupcakes, etc.?)
